Jaguar is a beautifully photographed guide to the best Jaguar sports and saloon cars stretching back to the pre-war roadster, the SS100. Featuring specially commissioned photography, the book is arranged in chronological order, starting with Sir William Lyons' nascent marque of the 1930s. It was only after the war when the work of aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer created the beautiful curves of the XK120 that the company became a world beater. The D-type brought the company sporting success at Le Mans, leading to a car that became emblematic of London in the swinging 60s, the E-type Jaguar. Production increased in the 1960s with the Mark I and Mark II saloons, latterly adopted by Inspector Morse. The Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-9 repeated the Le Mans success in the 1980s, but it was the sale of the company to Ford in 1990 that produced new models, the retro-styled S-type saloon and the E-type inspired XK8 sportscar. Sold to Tata Motors in 2008, the company has gone on to release more premium sportscars and prestige saloons, the Jaguar XF, the new XJ-series and the much-desired Jaguar F-type R.

Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons had a hit on his hands when he launched the "compact" 2.4 liter sports saloon in 1956. A year later those wanting more thrills were offered the 120mph 3.4 Liter. Both were replaced in 1960 by the Mk2 models, which added a 3.8 liter, and from there on, the range was developed and expanded with the long-booted S-type of 1964, the 4.2 liter 420 of 1967, and the final 240/340 models of 1968. Alongside there were the Daimler V8 and Sovereign models. The Mk1 and Mk2 and their derivatives have been heading the list of desirable classic cars for many years, and more and more worn-out, semi-derelict examples are being dragged out of garages and barns to be restored. For those seeking originality in a restoration, or considering the purchase of a car, or even noting points of originality or otherwise in a car they already own, Factory-Original Jaguar Mk1 & Mk2 provides the comprehensive guide to factory specifications, equipment and finishes in all departments. It covers engine and transmission, body panels, interior and exterior trim, electrics, dashboard, instruments, switches and controls, lamps, under the hood components, paint and trim colors - in fact, everything right down to the tool kit, from the beginning of production to the end. The text is accompanied by some 300 specially commissioned color photographs of outstanding examples of the cars, enabling the reader to view every model and variant in considerable detail.

The location is South Central Los Angeles, 1985, and every kid on the block is getting paid in full selling crack cocaine, but not DAIQUAN JOHNSON. He's a slow to learn but good with his hands kind of kid whose dream is to become an engineer one day. DAIQUAN is hard working and doesn't give in easily, but all the determination in the world may not prove enough for a passing grade in a major they said he had no business in. Academic probation, a teenage father, and below average math skills are just part of his problems. DAIQUAN'S worse fear is soon realized when he finds that his confederate battle flag waving Calculus professor, GODDAME has a hatred for the color black. The continuously applied stress-strain curve of life events diverts DAIQUAN'S attention away from higher education while he contemplates a potentially lucrative and illicit offer from his best friend back in the hood, Michael Miller, nicknamed Deadly Paws. But if DAIQUAN decides to challenge the Jim Crow calculus instructor, he must get a perfect score on his final exam or dwell in a world where crack is king.

The Great Cars series returns with an in-depth look at the 1963 Lightweight Jaguar E-type, chassis number 49 FXN. This Porter Press series selects individual vehicles that standout in the racing world, and commits to a full biography of them. ? This luminary among Jaguar Lightweight E-types made its race debut at the Nurburgring, freshly modified for aerodynamics and with an incredible engine developed by masterminds Dr. Samir Klat and Prof. Harry Watson. Peter Lumsden and Peter Sargent proved its high-speed potential by running third in the GT class at Le Mans the next year, and three months later, it was the best-placed E-type at the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood, as well as fifth in the GT class. 49 FXN’s successes go on, and you’ll see them all in full across nearly 300 period images, many previously unpublished, and plenty of full color studio photography.
