Most importantly, how can they best be put to use in understanding our individual needs and relationships? What Robert Pelletier does in Planets in Houses has never been done before in the history of astrology. He discusses the meaning of each planet in each house as derived by counting from each of the other eleven houses, and he discusses the meaning of each house position in relation to the other houses with which it forms trines, sextiles, squares and oppositions, inconjuncts and semi-sextiles. In each chapter, wheel symbols graphically show the seventeen different house relationships delineated for each planet. Finally, Pelletier delineates the Sun-Moon polarities in terms of the wheel of houses: for each house position of the Sun, he interprets each of the twelve possible related house positions of the Moon. Each chapter presents the traditional meaning of the house and explains how the derivative house system applies to it.

The phenomenon of retrograde motion is based on our Earth-centered view of the solar system, but the movement and cycles of retrograde planets are based entirely on the apparent motion of the Sun through the zodiac. Erin Sullivan organizes and explains retrograde motion from a systems viewpoint -- the system of the Sun and planets -- and interprets retrograde planets natally, by progression, and in transit.

How often do we tend to skip the houses without planets when looking at one's birth chart for the very first time? Interpreting Empty Houses provides a detailed account of these houses that are most often overlooked when delineating horoscopes as they, like houses holding planets, provide valuable insight pertaining to the department of life they each rule. The author explains the meanings of each of the twelve houses when empty as determined by the condition of its planetary ruler as it may be positioned throughout the remaining eleven houses of the horoscope. About the Author: Ana Ruiz was born in Spain and resides in Canada. She has been contributing columns and articles on astrology since she began her path down this road of stellar wisdom during the mid-eighties. Her writings have appeared in various newspapers and magazines such as American Astrology and Dell Horoscope. She has also contributed many articles to the American Federation of Astrologers bulletin; Today's Astrologer, as well as a monthly Sun sign column to their Web site. She is also the author of The Spirit of Ancient Egypt, Daily Life in Ancient Egypt, Prediction Techniques Regarding Romance and The Soul of Andalusia. The author's interest in this area of astrology arose from the fact that she has five planets in the 7th house, leaving exactly half of her natal chart with empty houses. The lack of information on this subject, or books for that matter, further inspired Ruiz to study these houses and share her research with the hopes of filling this gap.

For timing the events in the life of a person correctly, the Vimshottari Dasa System has been rationalised to fit the calendar in vogue and details of supportive transit indications have also been given. This book is a manual of practical astrology designed to enable the reader to handle queries relating to various facets of everyday life successfully.

Illustrates how aspects can offer a profound depiction of an individual and his or her destiny. • Contains comprehensive sections full of interpretations for every planetary combination. • Concepts are explained through the use of actual birth charts and diagrams. • A core textbook at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London. Aspects are an essential piece of the astrological puzzle when it comes to interpreting and using the information that astrology can give us. It is not enough to know the placement of the planets on the horoscope. It is the relationships between the stars and planets that let us grasp the destiny of the individual. Aspects describe the drama of our lives--the complex configurations that influence what will happen to us over time. Sue Tompkins, a fellow of the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London, shows how to interpret aspects when doing daily astrological readings. She uses the lives of real people to plot the aspects and offers examples of every possible planetary combination. Detailing the influence of oppositions, trines and elemental trines, and cardinal, mutable, and fixed crosses, Tompkins shows how aspects provide the energy in the chart that transforms the horoscope into something symbolizing an alive and vital human being. With Aspects in Astrology, Tompkins provides both the novice and the experienced astrologer the evidence and concrete methods needed to grasp the vast knowledge offered to us by our horoscope.
